Sketching

On a beautiful sunny day, what is better than to sit in the sunshine and quietly sketch the world around us!

Floyd Visits

Kade's Aunty Christine is looking after Floyd. Floyd came to visit and Kade told us all about Floyd and his holiday with Aunty Christine. His owners are having a holiday on the other side of the world. We were very lucky to get to meet such an awesome dog.

Learning the Recorder...

In Te Māhuri we all have a weekly recorder lesson with Mrs White. We learn how to read music, play different rhythms and about different instruments and types of music. Learning music is a great way to get lots of different parts of our brains working. And it's lots of fun!

Here are two songs from one of our latest performances...

Year 4 Blogs

Year 4 Blogging

This term we have been using our individual learning blogs to share our wonderful learning. We have also been looking at blog's and blog comments within our school and wider community.

We would love for our families to visit our blogs to see our amazing learning and our blogging progress throughout the year.
You can visit our individual blogs on the right-hand side of our classroom blog.

We do ask that you kindly take the time to write:

  1. Something positive- something you like about what I have shared.

2. Thoughtful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what I had to say

3. Something thoughtful - how have you connected with my learning? Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.

Welcome to Te Māhuri

We are looking forward to 2017 in Te Māhuri!

Below are some images we took today of our new space, there are so many places to learn throughout the classroom and we are excited to see what this year brings. We can't wait to see all of the excited faces on Wednesday.

We have one large mat area where we all meet as a class and smaller mat areas for group and whole class work. We have a lot of collaborative desks where children can sit and work with others in different areas of the room. Children can opt to sit on a chair, kneel or sit on the floor depending on how they learn best and where they are most comfortable to produce high-quality work.
There is so much more to see and learn, we don't want to give away too much!

Enjoy exploring!
