In Te Māhuri we all have a weekly recorder lesson with Mrs White. We learn how to read music, play different rhythms and about different instruments and types of music. Learning music is a great way to get lots of different parts of our brains working. And it's lots of fun!
Here are two songs from one of our latest performances...
Recorder Group 1: Jazzamatazz
Recorder Group 1: The Chicken Cluck Waddle
Wow very impressive performance! It is so hard to play the recorder when you have to play and read the music at the same time. Well done on learning so many new things learning music is like learning a language. I love playing music too, I play the flute. What has been your favourite part of learning the recorder?
ReplyDeleteHello Nicole, thank you for commenting on our blog we really appreciate your thoughtful comments. We love playing the recorder because we learn new notes, songs and letters to play. We also love playing the recorder, it is fun and exciting. We hope to hear from you soon. Te Mahuri at Yaldhurst Model School.
ReplyDeleteWOW! You guys are amazing and talented because you all played at the same till and you all played it wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to learn those songs in a couple days I would barely know all of them because I am not good at reading notes. Also how long did it take you know the whole song off by heart?
